Eva Anderrson-Dubin: “Everyone’s journey is so different when you have breast cancer, do burn really caters to the fact that we have so many different ways of taking care of the individual.”
“It really is a safe space. It is somewhere I can take my hat off and pretend I have hair.”
“When you walk through the doors at Dubin Center, you have access to everything.”
“There’s the top tier doctors and clinicians. For some people participating in a clinical trial would be the thing that they most connect with here. For others, it’s the cold cap treatment. For others. It’s the massage that they got. While waiting for a particularly nerve wracking biopsy. The fact that we’re able to offer that expanse of experiences and treatments to fit and meet the needs of all of our patients is the thing that I’m probably most proud of”
“The minute you get that diagnosis of cancer, they’re there to tell you you are not alone. After having lost, you know, a piece of pain”
“And loss of not only a piece of me my breasts but my hair, my eyelashes, my eyebrows, but I’m still recognized, and i knew who I was, every time i walked in through those doors.”
“And then….this one….”
“said, Guess what? So I got the news. both breasts, both, but thank God I took my journey before she took her journey. Where do we end up doing breast? Because it’s our safe place.”
“My breast surgeon was Dr. Pork. She literally saved my life. She was the first one to look at me and come up really close, put her hand in my lap and be like, Honey, what you have it’s extremely treatable and extremely curable. That’s when you just fall into a million pieces.”
“How can you fight this fight without that?”
“And they don’t have to do that. You don’t have to have a staff that’s rooting for you like you’re the star quarterback. And they’re all the cheerleaders and they’re jumping up and down. But that’s how it was”
“I had the MRI, and there it was. And it was such shock. I you think you’re going to die when you hear that diagnosis. And I thought, thank God I got a new insurance plan. So I called and they said, well, Kathleen, we feel that you knew about this, we feel that this is a pre existing condition. So yes, I got dumped.”
“We believe that everyone who comes through our doors deserves high quality care and to be treated exactly like those who might have the best commercial insurance.”
“We won’t turn anyone away.”
“That’s our mission.”
Eva Andersson-Dubin: “When you go through cancer, it’s not only to fix yourself up with surgery and the medication and chemo, but it’s also the mental state.”
“The group allowed me to see like okay, I’m not in it alone, I’m going to survive”
“My vision has always been and continues to be that we offer our patients, the newest and most cutting edge care, intra operative radiation treatments and seed localization, better reconstructive options, newer options for clinical trials. And all of those things are things that we are staying ahead of the curve on”
